Physical Therapist

Rachael is the founder of The Manual Method Physical Therapy and the Manual Method. 

Rachael is a Reno native. She grew up playing sports and had her fair share of injuries and naturally fell into the world of physical therapy. Rachael always wanted to pursue physical therapy as a profession but it wasn’t until a head injury showed her what the art of physical therapy can do. When the numerous specialists couldn’t find the neat box that her symptoms fit into, she turned to her local physical therapist named Peter Barbieri. Peter truly treated the whole picture with an open mind.

Physical Therapist

Laurel is currently on sabbatical. She will be returning in 2026.

Laurel was a US FreeStyle Ski team member who competed all over the world. After a few knee surgeries, Laurel found her passion in PT (physical therapy). She completed her doctorate at Columbia University in New York with a special emphasis on sports, post surgical and skilled analysis of people’s gait mechanics. This emphasis allows her to understand the impact of a person’s pain with their gait. 
Laurel returned to Reno, NV and practiced under Peter Barbieri. Laurel’s knowledge progressed with extensive manual therapy training and now focuses her practice on melding the two. 

Laurel enjoys being outdoors, staying active and of course spending a good day on the slopes. She understands how important it is to her patients to stay active and continue participating in the active lifestyle our region offers.

Front Office Coordinator & Insurance Specialist

Chelsea has been working as a front office Coordinator and an insurance specialist for the last 8 years in PT and worked in dentistry prior. Chelsea focuses on insurance verifications, preauthorizations, and working hand in hand without billing staff to make sure our patients have all the information possible when navigating the intricacies of insurance. She is also here for any scheduling needs as well.

Billing Manager

Laura has been working in the field of medical billing for over 20 years with prior experience to include a Cardiothoracic and Neuro surgery office. She made the move to Nevada a little over a year ago and has transitioned into the field of physical therapy!

Janet has been working as a PT clinic front office coordinator for the last few years with experience in multiple different types of offices prior. She brings with her a drive for operational excellence and quality patient experience.
